A bit concerned about my Pit Jani

I've had this guy since the reptile expo in august, he recently stopped feeding. Four weeks ago, not including this, since I didn't try this week, but he refused three feedings. If he refuses a feeding this friday, when should I be worried? I was recommended to put in a heat pad a few days ago, and he shows no interest (I previously had no heat pad, since I only saw don't reach over 80F, which depending on heat of the day, it could reach 78+ without heating equips.) I notice he is on an ordinary schedule (He's diurnal, He's up and about when I get home and stops being so active about this time, maybe a little later.) He has not lost any weight, that I'm aware of. and he's not lethargic, at all.

Ib think I found the problem, I was offering mice, not rats... I gave him a rat today and he took it without hesitation... He even constricted for the first time! I think I'ma cry! He's growing so fast!
