    Ventral sexing

Just wondering what's more accurate when ventral sexing, trying to ventral sex a tarantula post or pre-molt?

    Re: Ventral sexing

Sometimes with fat, pre-molt tarantulas (especially females) it may be a little easier to sex them because their "lips" kind-of bulge (or if there is no lips it's very apparent how smooth the area is). I think during either time, though, you could accurately sex a large enough tarantula (though, I have to leave my disclaimer, that no sexing is 100% w/out a molt. )

    i'll echo what bell said.

will also reiterate that if the tarantula is close to pre or post molt, just save the molt and sex that
