Just came home from reptile show!

I got myself a Pituophis deppei jani (Northern mexican pinesnake.) from John Finsterwald of "Colorado Corns." I hear they are okay with handling, should I wait for a certain body length before I start handling? And with my arachnids, I've been told to simply ignore them for a week before you start feeding and such. What alternations should it be with snakes, Longer? Shorter? I haven't owned a snake in so long, since I was a child! And even then it was only an ordinary petstore garter snake. Feeling a sub-adult Pit wrapped around my arm this morning felt like nothing I felt before, I may possibly be in love! Haha.
